The Parks in the city are crowded parking lots. There are a few just outside of the city that you may like: Enchanted Trails just off I-40 west of town and Turquoise Trail north of Tijeras on NM14 are owned by vintage trailer folks. In the Sedillo Hill area just off I-40 east of town is Hidden Valley Campsite and has a pool. All 3 are well maintained and you are less likely to have problems with your neighbors.

I recommend Enchanted Trails - Vicki the owner will go out of her way to accomodate you - this is where we are holding our vintage restoration rally. Its an old route 66 trading post that was moved brick by brick off the old highway and rebuilt next to the new highway. If you stay, tell her I sent you.

The second place I suggest is Turquoise trail - also very nice folks, however its a ways out of town and a little more primitive than Enchanted trails - little more out of the way if you like that. We hold an annural rally there too.

Another you may want to check out is the the Stagecoach Stop in Rio Rancho. It's on NM528 near the intersection of US550. RV Park Reviews :: Rio Rancho, New Mexico ( NM ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews
It's not the greatest RV park in the world but it is decent. It's not far from I-25 and convenient to both Albuquerque and Santa Fe. When we get our AS in May, we plan to hook up there for a month until we get used to our trailer.

If you want to go up to Santa Fe, there are a couple of nice ones up there too.

I think I'd recommend Enchanted Trails, too. It's a comfortable place, especially for vintage owners. (Vicki, the owner, has a very vintage teardrop and tow vehicle! Ask her about it!)

Frankly, if I had my druthers, that's where we'd stay when in ABQ. Alas, the druthers are not mine: We have relatives down near there, and they pretty much demand that we stay with them (onsite RV parking) when we're in town. They're really nice, and I love them dearly, but I'd also like to be able to do something a little different from time to time!
