Best route from Ottawa Canada to Jackson center ohio

I was wondering what is the best hwy from Ottawa, ont.canada to the airstream factory in Jackson center ohio. I was looking at a map and the hwy in new york the i90 going east to west seems like a toll road I'm not sure, the other way to get there is from Ottawa head west on 401 canada way and cross the usa border at Detroit Michigan then head south. I have both routes in my gps but witch one is the better safer route.

Sarnia is easier and more pleasant to cross at (less traffic), and then I75 south will get you there. I90 is a toll road, but the gas is cheaper, so money-wise you'll win.

But we enjoyed the 401 more, and you will be able to drop in on Can-Am RV in London if you are interested in making sure your hitch is set up the best way.

Thanks for the info, I have a 2012 flying cloud 19 foot, I bought it new and was going to Jackson center to have some warrantee items repaired and thought we would make a trip out of it and also visit the area.

It's six and two threes, really. Personally I'd get into the US early and go south of Lakes Ontario and Erie, but only because the gas is cheaper. I90 is good and not so expensive and, south of Lake Erie there are Tim Horton's outlets at the rest areas - could be a deal-breaker for some!

Any idea what the tolls would be on the i90. From syracuse new york heading west to hwy 271 heading south ,I don't know the exit numbers also I will be towing the trailer so 3 axles total and over 7.6 feet as I heard the toll road is charged by axles and height.

Then use Google Maps to plot your route, entry and exit points and the like, then you should be able to calculate what you'll need to pay.

We went from Buffalo to Mohawk last summer (that's west to east) and I want to say it was about $15, but I'm guessing. I do remember thinking that it wasn't that expensive.

I've done this trip many times with my tandem axle 59 Ambassador International, getting on the 90 in Albany NY, & it wasn't expensive. Getting on in Buffalo will save some as well. Get gas in Pa as it's cheaper than NY, which is significantly cheaper than Canada...............this coming from an expat. A buddy came down from Montreal over the weekend & said gas was $1.45/litre there right now, so about $6.00 US a gallon............ouch!
