Best non interstate cross country route ?

Yes I have tried the search function. I am hoping to find someone who is familiar with US 6, US 30, and/or US 50.
I am planning a cross country musical road trip. One direction will be hitting all the musical meccas of home grown American genres. ( Bluegrass, Country, Blues, Delta Blues, Rockabilly, Dixieland, Cajun, Texas Swing, Motown, and Rock and Roll ) I have that part planned out. I have already done some of that in sections, because it's hard for me to get away for really long periods.
I also want to try to book some performing dates along the way. Perhaps some street performing, playing for tips at bars etc.
As anyone taken these routes, and noticed many suitable music venues?

Hi friends Al & Pat

You might like this and it is not too far from you

The beginning of " Dave's Totally Awesome Musical Roots Road Trip " starts at
" The Crooked Road " in Virginia. It is a series of musical museums, barn dances, jam sessions, and musically historic destinations. The road itself is very scenic and a popular getaway, with cabins and nice campgrounds to stay at. If this interest you, do a Google search on, " The Crooked Road "

We crossed the Crooked Road signage quite a few times on the trip this fall. We saw the Whitetop Mountain band at the Rex in Galax, visited Cathy's Creek and Lake Toxaway jams while we were staying near Brevard. Next time we are in that area we are going to have to do our due diligence...have a great tour. Al
