Best Item for our old Airstream

Every nook and crany is filled in both tow vehicle and Minuet. Over the years, I have moved frequently so have become very good at packing much into a little space. It is quite a challenge to find room for all that I want to take when I tow with the Cadillac. The Suburban is usually packed from the back of the second row seat to the tail gate.

Did you get an RVQ, or a portable BBQ? Is it possible to easily connect it to the propane tanks on my Airstream?

This cookset is one of the handiest I've seen! The handles disassemble so that the kettles can stack without rattling. Each lid doubles as a strainer to pour off water.

And certainly get yourself a water thief -- it let's you fill your water tank from an unthreaded faucet!

You have to get a few plastic flamingos for comic relief. Unfortunately, plastic flamingos have become an endangered species that can be found only on the black market of ebay now for outrageous prices. Our plastic flamingos went into hiding somewhere in the basement and weren't able to accompany our 6 ft stuffed flamingo, Fred to the FCU rally last month.

Satellite Radio......we have XM and bought the boom box for our 1969 Overlander.....the antenna only needs to be pointed south.....great to have so many station choices anywhere.....we just plug it in and play....no wiring to fiddle with.....and the boom box sits on the shelf behind the gaucho.......works for us. pj

For us, two La Fuma lounge chairs, first thing set out when we reach camp ...and two wine glasses...and a bottle of good wine, of course...supplies for s'mores...a memory foam 2" mattress topper...mesquite for campfire...(all available to purchase) a rippling river for music and a full moon to shine on the Airsteam (priceless!)...well, you asked! ~G

I think the best non nature accessory for us has been the plastic patio mat this year, we finally gave up on the fake grass carpet thing (clay getting stuck on it and shedding threads were big problems). We bought ours from Walmart, but camping world has more variety. It has made packing up so much easier as the mat folds up, I can sweep it and wash off the clay and its like new!

Tires, shocks, wheel bearings, and electrical load test of NEW brakes.

Hitch properly rigged.

(Peace of mind must be established).

After that, a few things you'd not thought of in years, or taken seriously enough to invest the time in. Time, not dollars.

For me:

Leaning back on the couch in the early morning and listening to the local farm and ranch report. Leave NPR at home.

Adjusting and lubing the window and door mechs so that they open and close silently. Adjusting them to fit the weather of the moment.

Turn off the phone. Calls can be checked before dinner; once daily.

With this attitude in mind:

A single cast-iron skillet with a lid (#10) can cook most anything. With a dutch oven one CAN cook anything.

Cloud watching, in silence, is a good plan for the next while.

Canned food is perfectly good.

A short shower.

Takes ten days to two weeks to really relax. Anything shorter is but practice.

An attitude of simplicity

(once safety & security issues were resolved or on their way to so being).

My favorite little extra to date is my Burmese teak mat in my shower pan. You can even get them custom sized or shaped. With no gray water tank (or small ones) its a nice thing to have your feet on teak if water suddenly isn't draining just right.

Making sure all the exterior gaskets are OK, will make a trip very nice, should you be in some rain.

You won't have to watch all the water leaks.

Don't forget about the sewer vent pipe cover gaskets.

The last about 5 years.
