Another Bad Lands

There is another "Bad Lands" near Borrego Springs, CA. The area can be viewed from a place called Fonts Point, just east of Borrego Springs.

It was deffianitly a "Jack-a-lope" you saw, they ate all the cottontails and jackrabbits a long time ago! Cool photo you got!

We more than likely have stayed at the campsite you mention. When I traveled with my father during the 70's and 80's we primitive camped, he didn't believe in having a camper, said it was cheating. Then when he was in his 60's he bought a pop-up, called it a portable tent. Said sleeping on the ground hurt too much, had to have a matress. I say the heck with that! I have to have an Airstream!

The Badlands are nothing short of jaw dropping for me. I really enjoyed my stay there. We stayed at the KOA in Interior SD. It is a very nice park with good Wi fi and lots of shade trees. Theo and I checked out the local bars and found some very interesting stories from the locals there. The bar we were at is owned by an ex-truck driver. He was on his way someplace and found out the bar was for sale so he bought it and quit driving. He then met and married one of the local gals. Very interesting, there is also an element of self governance there too ! FYI, lol. The sheriff is a least a half hour away. They have no local law enforcement. Let me rephrase that, they have no local official law enforcement. In any case a very cool place indeed. Do yourself a favor and check out the local hangouts and chat them up. Some of my pics are here -->Badlands - a photoset on Flickr

Grassland at the Badlands

Here my panoramic photo looking across the grassland out to the badlands. As you can see the weather was beautiful while we visited this past May.
