Your photos are terrific! What camera equipment did you use? I have a point-and-shoot digital, but close-up work is sketchy at best.

I maintain the website for the Death Valley Natural History Assn. and my wife is a member of the Board of Directors for them. We go a couple of times a year for meetings and to enjoy the valley. Business AND pleasure! It can't be beat.

Thank you. I am using a Canon EOS Rebel XT for the photos that I took last week but the beetle/flower ones were taken with a Canon PowerShot point & shoot. There is a macro setting for close ups on both of the Canons that I have/had...my PowerShot died after a couple of years and the thing I didn't like about it was the slowness....I missed many grandchildren photos. So I moved up to the EOS and the EOS is fast and huge --can't slip it into my pocket .....guess there is no free lunch. The photo of the 5 spot flower has little tiny mites or spiders that were not visible to the naked eye....I only saw them in the photos. I do like my Canon (think it is 8 megapixels). paula

I agree with you that it can't be beat......what a spectacular place and thanks for your volunteerism.....We are so impressed with the Rangers--their programs are the best of any National Parks that we have visited. They are all so enthusiastic about Death Valley and I highly recommend that their programs are worth every minute of time you can spend listening to them. You can tell that DV is a very special place indeed!!! Thanks, paula
