Back from Pismo (Oceano Dunes) Beach...

Just got back from 10 days on the beach in Central Calif...It get's crowded there on the beach during holidays and the Turkey-Day week was no exception...!

The weather was great, only a couple of windy days, the rest were bright sunshine, and temps in the high 60's to 70, and a cool low 50's o'night...

Lots of SOB Toy Haulers loaded with 4-wheelers, Trail bikes, Side-By-Sides, and Sand Rails...our son's family has a couple of 4-wheelers that kept us all busy at times running the dunes!

I had put our large 34-1/2 dia tires and wheels from our camper on the Excursion so we could air em' down on the sand and trek back into the dunes for several miles - worked great, and didn't even get stuck once!...with this big tire combo, I was able to pull several diesel pickups pulling their SOB's stuck in the soft sand - out to firmer packed stuff!...the tow truck that patrols the beach was charging $250 per tow - didn't see him get much business, though!

For those not familiar, this area is a Calif State Park, with open camping on the beach and in the dunes - you just find your spot and you're 'home'...lots of noise from the many off-road vehicles running around, but the State restricts the speed to 15 MPH on the beach access itself...

Not surprisingly, we were the only AS on the beach...and we're paying for it this week! I ran a sprinkler under the TV and AS for a long time to get rid of any salty moisture left...and soaked the exterior with cleaner before pressure washing everywhere!...we used several mats in our camp to help keep most of the sand outside!

A fun time was had by all...

Very nice. I'd like to go there at least once just to say I did it. Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

We go to Pismo often, and love it there.
But we haven't been brave enough to take our Aistream down on the beach. Looks like it was lot's of fun!
Great pictures
