Thanks, TB, I will certainly have a look at your blog and do some poking around on the Roper Lake web site. Water and electric... No sewer? That is okay but my DH is skittish about dump sites. We've never had a 'Robin Williams' moment but I just know there is a dump site out there with our name on it for something like that.

I'm thinking that once we get out of Oregon and the Mt. Shasta region in NorCal, we won't want to come back here until the Spring. The weather in AZ is extremely pleasant in February and March. Why go home?

When we get closer to the date I'll give you a holler for some advice. The event at Dead Horse sounds like a hoot.

Hi Kathleen, my DH took lessons from my 80+ year-old uncle on the "fine art" of maneuvering around the dump station. He has a pair of long rubber gloves that extend up to his elbows and a pair of rubber boots....these are carefully rinsed and put away after each episode, and carefully stashed away! I would add a mask like dental hygienists use, if it were me. I totally understand your DH's skittishness...

That's a great picture of the Superstition Mountains in the background. Jan and I send our warmest Christmas wishes to you both. We will be seeing you next week at the New Years Party (Rally).

Thanks, for your wishes and notes, everyone! ... To answer your question, Brad & Zell...we did get a big rain storm Wednesday night (the first night we were here)...it was something...we knew we were going to get some rain, but we really got hit hard here...the storms that came from CA... the Bambi was a-rockin' and a-shakin'... We thought we might very well find ourselves in Kansas the next morning! We had battened the hatches so we survived quite nicely...and the Bambi looked like it had been through a car wash during the night! Not a spec of dust on it Thursday AM. Bonus! It has been beautiful weather since...in the 70s with nights in the 40s...can't beat that for Christmas weather! See you at New Year's Richard & Jan and Steve & Faith! Wish the rest of you could join us at the rally!

You guys are KILLING me! How fun, a cool rain storm (nothing sounds better than rain in an AS) and a free car wash to boot! Enjoy.

At the end of January we are headed down to Tucson from Ashland, OR and taking the I-5, for the most part. We've never taken such a long trip before this. Should we 'wing it' and just stop where we find an RV park? Or is it better to have an itinerary, find parks before we leave and make reservations?
Any ideas about which places to stop along the way might be good?
Are we crazy for taking such a long trip and planning to return home after maybe ten days in Tucson? Should we stay longer?

Since you guys all have such great pictures and obviously a good grasp of the 'lay of the land', I'm hoping you can offer some helpful advice.

No, your not crazy. You might want to allocate at least another week in the Tucson area as there is much to see and do. We always 'wing' it and seldom regret it. We do have courtesy parking with 20amp service and water. Sewer is available if you aren't on meds. We are 35 miles NE from tucson.
