We just left the White Tank Mountains Regional Park, NW of Phoenix, but easy access to the city. Lots of hiking trails and beautiful Sonoran desert landscape. There's a view of the city from the RV Park. ($30/night)

We will spend 2 weeks in Catalina State Park in the Catalina Mountains north of Tucson. A bit further from Phoenix, but also quick access.

Hwy 191 in Utah takes you to Dead Horse Point, Arches and Canyon Lands NP, and Moab. We stayed at the Spanish Trail RV park about 3 miles outside of Moab. We really enjoyed the area around Moab. May will be a good time to visit. Gets crowded in summer.

Lost Dutchman is a great park. You may also want to look at McDowell Mountain Regional Park near Fountain Hills. It may be a little easier traffic-wise for getting to ASU.

I'm sure it can be done, and I'm sure you could get away with it, but I am still thinking 28 feet means 28 feet.

We would never do the Moki Dugway towing a trailer. We drove up it once with our former RAV4, and it is a very narrow, winding road up a cliff face ("dugway" meaning "blasted out of the cliff side") and with sheer drop-offs, no guard rails, and very few places to pull over. Just after we reached the top, we encountered a couple of gravel trucks going down. Happily we didn't encounter those brutes on the way up.

What we would recommend is visiting Natural Bridges National Monument (near the top,) and perhaps the scenic loop (valley of the gods) at the bottom, although the valley is skipable. NBNM has a small campground with smallish sites that filled up by 1:00 during our last visit, but there is dispersed camping on BLM land near the park. However, some of it is down rough roads. There are some nice hikes through the bridges, but you can't bring your dog on the trails.

Congrats! We will be celebrating down in Tempe, too! Last one is done!

So, I am going to throw you another Phoenix option. McDowell Mtn Regional Park. Agree with Cally!) We think the 360 views are phenomenal. It's close to the nice town of Fountain Hills with a beautiful Safeway for groceries if you need. It's about 20-25 minutes to the 101 where you can shoot down to ASU.

There's nice space between the sites - if you can get 53 it's a beauty (it sits high) - or number 6. This is our favorite local park - we bike there at least twice a month and make it a "last night" before home ( which is just 20 minutes away). We've stayed here for a weekend even though it's only about a Bird's mile! Clean bathrooms ( even an AS host!) The sunrise and sunset are unmatched!

If you are bikers, hikers or even walkers, there are beautiful trails!. Not much shade (this IS the desert!). If youhave time , Ranger Amy leads wonderful programs - for adults!

As for the four corners area - Navajo National Monument is a hidden gem, but don't miss Monument Valley if you can do it. As for Cortez area, there is Mesa Verde if you want a National Park. In Dolores is McPhee Res,\. If you want a gorgeous drive, there is 145 north to Telluride and on to Gunnison or Ouray/ Silverton and down to Durango. I second Alpen Rose for an RV park - beautiful views of canyon walls! ( go to James Ranch for local meats) Also, Moals Lake at 10K - could be cold - cause it was cold in June last time we were there - but gorg none-the-less!

Get in touch is you want more info. That's as far east into CO as we have been.

Enjoy the trip - you may never want to go back to PA - we didn't!!!
