Hi Favorite camp ground near Sedona , Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood, and do the Verde River RR
day trip, be really nice in Sept. Also some great indian ruins in that area, and Jerome has become
a great area to have lunch in and shop. Can always do the PINK JEEP rides in Sedona
Some of my favorite NM camping areas were devastated this summer with wild fires. Would check before
you head there.

There is a restaurant at Sedona Airport that I'd definitely recommend you check out. I believe it's called the Mesa Grill. They serve breakfast and lunch. Great place to catch the planes taking off and landing.
I've actually flown in there myself about a half a dozen times. It's a very exciting take off/landing. The runway's on an incline and the airport is up on a mesa. It feels like you're landing on an aircraft carrier and the winds on the approach are very exciting.

Any campground recommendations in San Antonio and Roswell, NM? We need electricity and internet coverage, only must-haves.

Check My Campground Reviews
At the top left of the website,
Beneath the Air Forums banner,
Select the pull-down tab that says "More"
The second bullet is "Camground Reviews"
There, you will find reviews of campgrounds along your route.
On your way to Carlsbad plan to stay at Oliver Lee State Park south of Alamogordo.
If the BLM parks are open by 2014, Valley of Fires National Recreation Area near Carrizoso is a wonderful place to camp.
Hope this helps.

Ken, thanks - that is a resource I had never noticed before. Didn't find specific help for our needs, but it is a great resource none the less. Thanks for pointing it out!

! second Valley of Fires (BLM) if it's open by then...great place near Carrizozo, NM. Also there is Brantley Lake State Park about 10 miles north of Carlsbad on the road to Roswell. They have full hookups and water/electric hookups. You could do both Roswell and Carlsbad Caverns from there. We had Verizon internet service in both places in later Sept.

Potential camping spots
Brad. Depending on which direction you are coming. If coming from abq turn off after Socorro on 380 definitely stop for chile cheeseburger at BUCKHORN in San Antonio. If still Hungry across street for ice cream. An hour or so away can stay or stop at mal paies volcano. State campground well apportioned. Stop in Capitan for the best jerky (garlic or pepper) at the market there a, stop in Lincoln (think billy the kid) good museum continue to 70 make right for about 12 miles to my favorite campground Deer crossing rv park owned and we'll run by Roy and Denise. Tell them Ernesto sent you but am aware that they are shutting down for winter soon so give them a call. From here only 15-20 miles to ruidoso. Inn of mt gods casino and restaurant plus nice shopping in ruidoso. Roswell is about an hour or so from deer crossing in San patricio (think Peter Hurd art galleries and hondo iris farm. Hope this helps. Denise may know good place in Roswell. Enjoy land of enchantment. Ernesto

Awesome suggestions all. We have Buckhorn on our list. Any dinner restaurants of note or interest in Albuquerque we should visit? Here in ABQ today and tomorrow.

Sadies and El Pinto in ABQ are good. I prefer the Owl in Socorro for green chili cheeseburgers. If you stay at Valley of Fire, cruise up to White Oaks to the No Scum Allowed Saloon for drinks and a shot of Rattlesnake Bite. Yahoo!

Town and Country in Roswell has an Airstream MoHo on their homepage, so they can't be all bad. I'll be checking it out myself, hopefully, by the end of the month. It is time for me to re-locate from Alamogordo. And yes, Oliver Lee State Park near Alamo is a great place!
