Autoride...

GMC/Chevy – Autoride Does anyone have a Yukon XL/Suburban with Autoride? I am considering a new Yukon XL and wondering what changes if I get it with the auto-leveling Autoride feature.

I’m not exactly sure what one gets with this feature other than maybe just a little less pressure on the load-leveling hitch. Is the system designed to eliminate the need for the load-leveling hitch?

Thank you in advance for the knowledge share!

I have an 05 Yukon XL with Autoride and also had an 01 Yukon with it. I think the system is designed to only bring the vehicle back to level after a trailer is attached or a heavy load has been put into the rear of the vehicle.
I believe it does not eliminate the need for a load leveling hitch.

autoride

We have autoride on our 2001 Yukon. I like the option and it works very well. It's function is to level the vehicle with any type of a load in it. As the vehicle gets older, I hear the compressor come on more frequently.

The option is not intended to take the place for load equalizing hitches especially with a 31 foot trailer.

Good luck.

2500/vs 1500

Mark and Kimber,
I think that the "Autoride" feature is different depending if you have a 1500 1/2 ton or the 2500 3/4 ton.

I do have the "Autoride" option on our 2500 Suburban and it does not effect the level. It does change the shock damping settings to adjust the ride quality.
