Arizona's state parks

Our maiden full time voyage was a blast , thanks to the 4CU and Arizona's state parks

After a short initial tour of Big Bend and the Gage Hotel in Marathon, right after Christmas ,we headed to Picacho State Park and the New Year's Rally of the 4CU...which was great!!!!

We had (sort of) planned...and then headed towards Joshua Tree National Park...stopping in Yuma, AZ...we were like the Beverly Hillbillies in our travels..since we are relatively untravelled... but in amazement everywhere we went

Yuma was beautiful...we are C2C members and stayed at a barely acceptable park in Yuma, but it was Ok...a place to do was a western horizons property and they shove the C2C folks in the corner..oh well..
then on to Indio Calif and another western horizons prop..but a great park....we were amazed at the beauty of the area around Indio and La Quinta.....but really ga ga'ed at the trip over the mountains to Hemet, Calif.

It was off to 29 Palms to another C2C park for laundry and to scope out the Park before we moved there...We moved to Joshua Tree and camped at the Belle ........just before the deluge began...we were in a wind and rainstorm and saw two rainbows in the desert before we left..
on the way to Quartzsite...for only one night ...just to scope it out. On the way to Lake Havasue...just being like Okies escaping the dust bowl......

Then the rains in Arizona...(rain in the desert?????) started in earnest as we headed to Wickenburg, or floated there on our way to Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale....

After that we just lucked into the Lost Dutchman state park and tortilla flats and canyon lake and the drive on US 60 (the salt river canyon is beautifyul) from there on the way to Show Low and Fool's Hollow State Park and snow up to our knees...GREAT...we really enjoyed being in the snow and cold and the Airstream was like a cocoon...... Hated to leave...... then we headed to by throwing a dart at a Lyman Lake and snow again.....Lyman Lake and Fool's Hollow are beautiful...W#hy....are they closing Lake Lyman??????and Lost Dutchman????or any of them??????

Oh well....we then left Arizona for New Mexico and the wildlife refuge at San Antonio...Sandhill cranes and Snow Geese everywhere.....then we lucked into Elephant Butte New Mexico...Engle and Truth or Consquences ....ended the journey with a trip to Alpine, Tx and a suprise, (for us) find on the drive between terlingua. tx and presido, Tx....Texas FM 170 .....along the Rio fact our trip from San Antiono, Nm to Alpine sort of meandered along the Rio Grande.....

But we are back home now awaiting the closing date on our house.....awaiting to be homeless and the next adventure....

A voyage up Hwy 61 along the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Minnesota....................

Thanks for sharing your amazing journey, and awaiting fulltiming adventures.

Sorry I missed you when you visited Yuma, I'm staying at Pilot Knob LTV.
