Arizona--first trip south in our Airstream--places to stay?

We are headed south to warm weather and would love suggestions for nice parks to stay in AZ. What websites are most helpful for finding excellent spots for airstreams?

Looks like we will miss the Airstream rally. We will be in AZ sometime the week of Feb 15-22, 2016.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.

AZ gets very busy in Feb/Mar so you may need to make a rsvp at the popular parks. Check Allstays.com for listing of CG's for the entire country.

Hi from AZ. . .sorry you're going to miss the rally, We like Lost Dutchman SP, near Apache Junction, Catalina SP & Gilbert Ray campground near Tucson . Lots of 'resort' type parks if that's tour preference, but I would also use a searcher like Allstays. Supposed to be in the low 80's in PHX area this week, good time to come on down. . . travel safe, Craig

Some of the regular folks who stay here will chime in soon and give you heads up on the trailer parks.

There are two WBCCI units here so check out the calendars of the 4CU Unit and the Phoenix Unit go see if there are any opportunities to visit.

Baseball starts soon so reservations might be needed. Any other questions ask away one of us locals will likely be able to answer.

Best of my knowledge, RV parks and campgrounds do not discriminate against Airstreams. When in Prescott, I like to stay at Point of Rocks RV Park.

This time of year you are best off to stay in the central and other parts of AZ...weather and temps up in the mts of the Mogollon Rim and the Flagstaff area can be cold and unpredictable... but there are lots of places in the Phx metro area and SoAZ to enjoy.

The Arizona State Park systems is well developed and you can make reservations...find state parks with camping here. Recommended: Lost Dutch State Park near Apache Junction, Picacho Peak between Phx & Tucson, Catalina State Park in Tucson, Roper Lake State Park near Afford, AZ, Kartchner Cavern near Benson, AZ and Patagonia Lake State Park east of Nogales, also the state parks on the lower Colorado River... Buckskin Mt, River Island, Cattail Cove and other of those is Lake Havasu. Most state parks have a 2 week limit.

Also recommended: Maricopa County Regional Parks (Metro Phx) here. Cave Creek, McDowell Mt, Usery Mt, White Tanks. They also have time limits...2 wks I think.

The only Pima County (Tucson) Park with camping is Gilbert Ray near Old Tucson and the Sonoran Desert Museum on the west side.

Of course, there are commercial parks all over at every level of amenity if that's your cup of tea...check out GoodSam's or Woodall's websites for summaries and links.

The Four Corners Unit (WBCCI) is holding a rally 7-10 April at DeAnza RV Resort south of Tucson off I-19 if you are interested...would be happy to have you join us as a guest. Here's the Forums sign-up page and all the info you need. You'll just miss our rally in the Sedona area this weekend. Bummer!

We really like McDowell regional park just ne of Scottsdale near fountain hills. Beautiful desert campground with water and electric, spacious sites with beautiful views and incredible night sky's. Close to the neat town of fountain hills.

We liked Kartchner Caverns SP in Benson, White Tanks RP west of Phoenix, Catalina SP in Tucson, and Queen Mine RV Park in Bisbee. If you travel in Arizona with a pet, please review in advance, the situation regarding Valley Fever.
