OMGosh!! That is too cool idmtman! You lucky dog! I've been wanting to find some streamers to go down south with for a few months but don't know very many yet. I'm inspired by your willingness to just go for it. Who knows, there still may be hope for me yet!

My wife and I just finished a 4-day getaway to Sequim, WA (pronounced Squim) on the Olympic Peninsula, maybe it isn't quite winter yet, but it isn't very warm.

Then at the end of January, we will spend a few days in Port Townsend, WA (also on the Olympic Peninsula). This is an interesting town with old buildings (for the west coast) and marine views (you can see from Mount Baker to Mount Rainier).

We enjoy our short trips to get away from the kids and life's busyness.

10Smiles, you've got the right idea about short trips to just get away from it all. Does the body good! I'm camping with one of my sisters and about 3 other airstreamers this weekend at LL Stub Stewart State park in Oregon. I can't wait!

Heading south; A few pictures... so far

We spent two weeks on the Oregon Coast after visiting our grandchildren near Portland. On the way we drove the Avenue of the Giants in the Redwoods and right now we are spending a month in the wine country of Sonoma County. Next stop Big Sur.

Yup

Mrs S and I are going to give a winter trip a shot.
Dec. 26th we are going to depart from East Texas with my sister & brother-in-law and head up to Red River, New Mexico. We will stay their till Jan 1st.
We wont be staying in the Airstream while in Red River, we rented a Condo becasue we have a large group of us going skiing.
Ill park the Airsteam at an RV park and have it on standby.
On Jan 1st we will head to Albuquerque, New Mexico to drop off my sister and her husband so they can get on a plane and fly home.

After that we dont know where we will go from there. Im thinking Arizona...but who knows.
We are going to give the winter thing a shot. Some say we will freeze, others say we will have a great time.

The third week in January is the selected time for our winter trip in the Tin Lizzy. We are planning to spend the week in Louisiana.

We left Golden, Colorado for Baltimore, Maryland on Oct 30th and had good weather on the entire trip. We have been here 10 days visiting our daughter and tomorrow will head slowly down the coast to Boca Raton, Florida to visit our son. We had warm to fair weather in Maryland and expect no problems heading south. After about a week there we will meander along the Gulf Coast to Texas and wait there into the weather is OK to travel home. Will probably winterize in Texas before taking the trailer up north to its storage lot in Denver.

Come on down, Carlita! There are plenty of Airstreamers around Central and Southern AZ in the winter ... hopping from campground to campground and hitting a few 4CU rallies here and there ... We always look forward to winter — it's our HIGH season for more local camping ... we love it! The AZ State Park system and the Maricopa County Regional Park system (Phx is in Maricopa County) now take reservations, making it even easier to plan and enjoy. Hope to see you!

One could not have asked for a nicer weekend

Will leave Richmond 23rd December and head down to Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire to spend Christmas with our daughter & family. On the 27th down to the south coast via London with Airstream in tow to catch the train under the English Channel and into Northern France.
We will then drive the 750 miles to the French Alps and camp @ Bourg St Maurice. 850 mtrs. And ski the season. Returning back to the U. K. end of April.

Let it snow. 🎿
