There's only one way. South on 191, hook a left in Monticello on 491 to 160 in Cortez to Durango.

There are other ways to go, but pulling a 28' trailer would make that the safer way to go.

A nice side trip is to run out to Needles Point Overlook for some endless views of Canyonlands NP. It is a paved road out there and back but it is 20 miles one way. Here's a taste.

Good idea. We were on a motorcycle when we went and I can't remember if they have any parallel parking out there. I see that we are almost neighbors.

Mesa Verde NP is close to Cortez. I'm sure it is on your agenda. We loved it when we visited several years ago.

The train ride from Durango to Silverton is also well worth the price. Advanced reservation may be needed. Official Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train
