Anywhere to stay in SW Kentucky?

We're headed out soon for a 6 week trip to visit our daughter and grandkids who live in Hopkinsville, KY. Hopkinsville is about 70 miles north of Nashville, TN.

We plan to be in the Hopkinsville area for about 2 weeks and, so far, I haven't been able to locate an RV Park that suits our needs. I've found two or three but each of them is 30 to 40 miles away from Hopkinsville, and the two that I've priced want about $200 week to stay with them.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive place to park an Airstream for 2 weeks in this part of the country?

Thanks

You might try the State Parks to see if any are open and can give you a better rate, but $200 a week for hookups/facilities is pretty cheap. Might also be a city/county/community park that is still open, which tourist information in Nashville could help you with.

If $ is a serious issue, and/or you want to be really close to those grandbabies, might consider your daughter's driveway or in front of her house. An extension cord will keep your electric running, you can help with the electric bill and can probably find a truck stop to dump when you need it.

Good luck and have a great trip.

The bad news is that most of the campgrounds around here close up by the end of October. If you find one that will take your reservation you probably should book it.

With that being said here is all I know.

There is a campground at this motel. about 25 miles north of Hopkinsville, but right on the parkway and an easy drive.

I don't know anything about this one, but have you tried?

HI, don't know if they close for the season, or when, if they do but we stayed at Land Between the Lakes. It's a Nat'l. rec area and we had a very nice time. Nice clean campgounds with full or partial hook-ups. Just an all round nice place to stay. Look them up and see if they are open during the times you're looking to be there and if they are I'm sure you'll have a great time. We were there this past July. It was hot but they have a nice swimming area to cool off in. You shouldn't have that problem this time of year.

Good luck with your trip. Have a great time.
