Have a great time ... we boondocked for 3 months last winter just south of Q. Loved it. When we go back again it would be in your direction .

This will be my 4th time at Quartzsite. The only "negative" is the fine dust (I'm OK with it, but the wife gets a bit testy).

Fine dust, eh? It probably creeps past tiny openings in the same way that wind-blown snow does here. I think I'd prefer the dust.

Snow??? Don't mention the word. I've escaped the past five winters from the "True North Strong and Free".

Comparing WX at "Q" to Placitas, NM -

Current temp at Q = 59F and its 31F now in Placitas, NM.

Expecting 65F today at "Q" and 47F here now with SNOW expected tomorrow - that's why we're headed to "Q" in JAN...

Should be NICE in the desert then!

We are headed to Quartzite on Friday (12/21). Looks like we will be somewhere in the La Posa Long Term Visitors Area on BLM land. If anyone is setup in another area let us know.

Can you recommend a website for the Hobo Rally?

We'll be in Death Valley in mid-JAN and consider going to the Hobo Rally but we haven't found much on the web about it - can you recommend a good site?

If you look at the Rally application form, you will see that it asks for your WBCCI number.

Generally rallies are for WBCCI members only except where it is a "buddy rally". Since you already own an Airstream product why not join - there's a lot of really nice people and enjoyable times to be had.

One reason for membership is member rallies. If you showed up, I would think they might accommodate you in hopes of your impending membership. Go, you'll have fun. The more the merrier. I'll see you there. . One more thing. Bring a large coffee can for Saturday nights dinner. No can, no stew.

Sounds interesting -- do you expect this to be "the" place for Airstreamers this season? I was planning to head out there in January and would love to hook up with some folks. Any particular dates or do you expect people to be coming and going at this location for an extended period?

This will be my first time camping out at Quartzite.
