Anyone in Austin Lost a Door Today?

While driving home this evening in Austin, Texas, I see a door in the middle of the road and the car ahead of me stopped and moved the door to the side. It looked like an Airstream door so I went back and picked it up. I just now posted it in the RV and lost and found sections of Craigslist. It looks to be off of a mid 1950's Airstream with the door within a door. If it had happened to me I would feel terrible. I just want to reunite it with its owner. I just hope someone will see it here. If anyone has any other suggestions let me know.

It would make a great coffee table.

Hope someone tries to find it.. And lucks out here!

I would make mention to the police... They have a lot going on.. But if someone contacts them.. Perhaps ...

Big time Karma boost...

No it will not fit an Argosy if it is truly a door within a door.

How about posting it on Airstream Addicts, Airstream Adventures, etc. on Facebook? Somebody there might know who might have lost it!

I'm sure the owner will be very appreciative! Hope he sees it here!

I'm sure this is a silly question, and there is a very obvious answer, but what was the idea behind that double door setup, I never did understand it?!

Door and owner have been reunited. His friend saw my Craigslist post and had the owner contact me and I dropped it off to him today. Thanks for all your kind words.

Kindest regards, Lloyd

Wonderful. Blessings to both of you, and I'm glad this was resolved so quickly.

Isn't it nice when a good deed bears fruit?

Built in screen door, it was 'kind'a kool....it's the suicide feature that was a bummer, had ours pop open once while underway...lesson learned.

Not just "kinda cool" - that is just gorgeous! At the camp we're at this weekend, there's a (year?) Globetrotter with that door in a door. Just awesome looking!!

Thanks for taking the time and expending the efforts to track down the owner. We lost a rear hatch cover a couple of years ago. I walked several miles of road, but it never turned up. Happy to hear this one worked out. I sometimes tell people that I know a vintage trailer is ready to go when nothing falls off for three trips in a row...
