We are in the Yukon now- the drive from British Columbia to Jasper and Jasper to Whitehorse has been spectacular. We've seen lots of wildlife- bears, wood bison, elk, stone sheep, big horn sheep. We've seen more rivers and lakes than we could count, amazing vistas. Muncho Lake and Teslin Lake were unexpected beautiful surprises. Highly recommend this trip and we haven't even made it to Alaska yet!

We've had quite a few broken "bubbles" in the bubble wrap and removed at least one pebble that had lodged in the wrap.

Airstream sighting near Glennallen Alaska

While running some errands between beautiful downtown Glennallen Alaska and fish camp, I saw 23FC at a little country store and stopped in to say hello. They have been here a month and are headed back south already. Can't wait to get our tow vehicle dialed in and try some close-to-home forays in advance of next year.

We left home, (south of Kansas City, Mo), on 5/22, and are currently at Watson Lake. It’s been a beautiful drive so far, except for the rain.

We're headed to West Glacier today for 4 days, then cross the border on Monday. Hope to see aluminum going north!

Great trip to Alaska

We drove up the AlCan to Alaska and had a super trip leaving CA in mid-May 2018. It was early and uncrowded on the way up and in the campgrounds. We found some beautiful places in Canada that we'd like to spend more time exploring- but our goal was Alaska so we didn't take as much time on the way up.

Highly recommend Valdez, Homer, Seward and Denali. We spent only a short time outside of Anchorage, although we made a couple of trips through Anchorage which included stops for groceries (Carr's), REI, an artisanal cheese shop, Home Depot, church, quick meals etc.. If you have a club card with Carr's you can get gas discounts at Chevron (we got 40 cents off a gallon).

Would love to return to Alaska on a fall trip to see the fall colors and to be there long enough to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)!

Have fun on your trips!

Bubble Wrap

Finally, we are on the way. Made it to the Rouge River State Park in Oregon today and continuing to Portland tomorrow. The last "improvement" project was to "bubble wrap" the front of the AS. Between this and the Rock Tamer we hope to keep the front of the AS ding free.[/QUOTE]

What did you use, how did you apply it and what were the results? Worth the effort?

While it did keep down the number of dings, it eventually got torn up. I had to pull it off the trailer while halfway through Canada on the way back. Looking at it 5 years and many trips later, there is really no way to keep the Airstream ding free forever.
