any adventurous types out there?

We are birders ( no life lists, but we like them) and have stayed at many National Wildlife Refuges. Have any of you gone into Red Rocks NWR in SW Montana? I'm getting to that age where if I don't try soon, I'll never do it. I'm thinking of sticking Bess' nose in off I-15 south of Dillon at Monida. I know it's a gravel road, but, even with fresh tires and shocks, I'd be curious to what any of you have experienced.

I have driven over it with a car several times, not too recently.
My impression was that it is a normal, gravel forest service type road, passable with a smaller Airstream.
It is a fairly long distance with no services and lots of place to boondock.
I would make sure that my tow vehicle is equipped with good mud flaps or gravel deflectors and check local conditions before departing.

Mike....so your a Birder? I know you like the desert in the Winter but consider this....I have two RV spots in the Rio Grande Valley...Weslaco, TX. They are in a citrus grove, very clean, very tropical. And, we are located just minutes from several of the best birding sites in the US. I want to see if any Airstreamers want a place thats unique for the Winter....maybe year round if they want. Know anyone?

That looks cool. You never know, Bess likes to wander.
