There are two Airstreams where we are, a '78 Sovereign, and us. Ours is the only one that moves, though.

We were in Steinhatchee, Florida weekend before last, scalloping. Stayed at a friends lot there, on the river. A few pictures:

Okay, fresh scallops are new to me. I know about oystering and clamming and crabbing, but how do you "scallop" to get the little yummies? Don't mean to hijack, but I'd really like to know ~G

We were in about 5-7 feet of water. You snorkel around your boat, floating on the water looking down in the grass. When you see them, you dive down and grab them. They can "nip" you if you are not careful. They do have eyes, so they can see you coming after them.

We shish kabobed some with bacon on the grill, also breaded and deep fried the rest. They were very sweet tasting this year. Will probably go back out again sometime this year.

Yes, you have to have a saltwater fishing license in Florida. Yeah, I think it is July, August. Just google "Florida Scalloping Season" for more info.
