And it may well be that Airstream she is next to 60 years from now.
It looks great.

Thanks for the Tip on the RV park

Tim,

Thanks for the tip on the park it is certainly one we will consider when in the California area. We purchased a Bambi in December of 2003 and did our first camping trip in February 2004 here in Massachusetts. Believe me it is cold around here during that time of the year. Up until then we tent camped for about 10 years (yes, in the winter also..burrrrrr). The Bambi was great and all systems worked well... In April we took a trip to South Carolina and stayed at Outdoor RV Park on Hilton Head for a couple of days (nice park very clean very quiet) but it was a bit cold so we picked up and headed down to Orlando. On arrival at about 8:00 PM we were eaten to death by mosquitoes as we hooked up our trailer to water electricity and sewer. We got in the trailer and kicked on the AC and .... Nothing... The power was not working on the site. So back to the gate where a couple of very helpful workcampers helped us find another site only after we were bitten ever further. We spent 3 great days in Orlando stopped in Disneyworld 1 day and swimming the rest. We headed back to the north over the course of 2 days. All in all a great first reasonably long trip (about 2600 miles) but we both agreed that we needed a bit more space... By the way we brought our guinea pigs with us (they are kinda big you know..) So..... In June we traded in the Bambi for a 25' Safari and the Guinea pigs now have the space they need ( I also like having a couch).
We have taken a short trip to a local RV park just to assure all systems are working well (they are) and are planning on attending the Region 1 rally in August I wish I had more time and vacation available to get out more but so far this has been a fantastic experience. We purchased our trailer to get out on the road with it and really see the country from a different perspective. It really came as a result of our last vacation when we stayed in 4 different hotels/condos in about 8 days. After a while you really get tired of the strict check in times at the hotels and the need to haul all your things in a couple of little bags on an airplane. The freedom of having everything in the trailer is great and it seems (in my experience) the RV parks are much more reasonable on check in times. We have also met many really nice people in the parks (the trailer is a really good conversation topic) which is something we typically don't get to do when traveling by plane and in hotels. Oh well, I guess I have babbled on long enough... Like you I like to hear of others experiences they really give you some great ideas for your next trip... See you on the road...

Yeah, ..........
...and on top of that try to find a hotel or airline that is Guinea Pig friendly.

Actually, the pups were a big factor in the purchase of the MoHO.

Watchyagonnado? -- Can't leave 'em at home, and WHAT a hassel trying to travel with them in a conventional van and trying to settle down in a different motel every night.

This Airstreaming thing has truely worked out well for us.

For a meal stop or a short excursion while on the road, we just turn on the generator, crank up the AC, and the pooches are quite content to await our return.....difficult to do for "conventional" travellers.

Dennis... That is what I am trying to get my parents to realize. Traveling with their dogs. Right now they put them up in a doggie hotel whenever they go somewhere at around $30/night! It would be so much better for them to get some kind of RV.

DEO... Cool that you got to start airstreaming... I like the idea of the 25' myself. If I ever got a new one, I would lean toward that size. I would love to travel across country sometime. Still thinking about it.

Did you take your Safari down HW 1 to Big Sur? There's a nice campground at Lime Kiln State Park and I am hoping someone on the board has stayed there for a review.
