Annual Trip To Zion

Well we are on are fall trip to Zion NP, with the 8 month old twins and the 4 and 7 year olds. First extended trip with the twins.

Wanted to leave at 6 or 7 this morning from Cedaredge Co but with the wife working and me having all four kids while trying to get everything ready we didn't leave till 9:45 and then had to make some stops before we left town.

Plus we didn't get to bed till after 1am

It's about a 7.5 hour drive from our place, but with having to stop for the twins and take brakes we got here at 7:15 this evening.

I must say I love the new air bags in the coil springs in the Sequoia. Not only does it not sag, and I don't have to crank the WD hitch so much. IT rides better.

I didn't see any other AS on the road today, lots of SOB's though. The Trial is just about done now. I will post picks next weed on my restoration forum.

Got the polishing job started so will post some pics of that too. and are fun around ZION.. Well the twins are in bed with the other 2 and it's time form some wine and then bed for the wife and I...

I was there in late Sept. Stayed in Zion River Resort coming and going, and Watchman campground for four nights. I took hundred pics, but to spare the redundancy here are three-

Zion River Resort campsite

Hiking in Virgin River Narrows

Watchman Campground, my Airstream is in background. Campsite backs up to Virgin River.

Love Watchman campground, took the shuttle everywhere including outside the park to restaurant. Road thru tunnel had a couple 10 minute delays, and rough dusty or muddy sections.

Well, It gets light here later than home but the kids still woke up at 6:30. Got everyone feed and dressed and ready to go for a quick walk and then get the twins down for a nap. This afternoon we will be going for some sort of hike with everyone.

We booked about 2 month and a half ahead of time and still couldn't get a river spot, but we are right across from them. Next year we will book even sooner

Here's a pic of our camp site.

Had a great day. Went for a walk with the kids this morning. The older ones rode there bikes the twins in the stroller. In the afternoon we went up the canyon to the river walk. We could take the stroller up that. Tomorrow we brake out the backpack carries and do some hikes. Time for some wine and a shower.

it's getting late so I will try to load some pics tomorrow. But we hiked the Emerald pools today.. All the kids did great. the backpack carries worked fine for the twins till I had to also carry my 4 year old on my shoulders as well. As he got tired on the way down. Tomorrow some short hikes. Weather has been holding great. Suppose to turn bad the afternoon on Sunday, but we will be on the road home..

Still haven't seen any other AS around...
