Annapolis to Maine, need tips please

I've decided 95 straight up...i know George W bridge can be a bear but looking for any advice on other routes and looks like Hartford may be half way...where to stay?? within 50 miles??? or other thoughts/?????? thanx all, Ron

PS -- Not sure why you want to take 95, as it is a much nicer trip to go further north to Newburgh NY and head east on I-84 then to the Mass. Pike IMO, as detailed in the first thread linked above.
