I, too, flash and wave but my kids scream (as if the other driver can hear them) every time. Normally screaming in the car is frowned upon (especially while daddy is towing) but I'm okay with them doing it when they see another Airstream.

Have seen several on our way up to Banff and Jasper Ca. Do the flashing lights. Every camp we have been to have had nice comments on our 75 Sov. 2600 miles so far and she pulls like a dream!

We usually wave, and we almost always get waves back!

It is still exciting for me to see an Airstream on the road. When I was a kid, my Father would give us a nickel for each one we saw when on the road. ( dont know what he would have done if we spotted a caravan!) Pretty good deal for him as it kept three boys concentrating on something.

We try to flash when we can but it kind of depends on the traffic around us.

Cheers

I will flash my high beams in the day time. If there is a semi waiting to come over I wouldn't be able to see the AS on the other side anyway.. and if there is a cop I flash like crazy

I get so excited, sometimes I do it when I'm not towing. That will get you some strange looks.. Maybe I should paint my roof box silver and put some red numbers on it

Yesterday I went from Kansas City to Iowa Falls up I35 and saw 3 or 4 Airstreams going southbound plus about 12-15 SOBs. Not sure what the deal was but there were sure a lot of trailers going south. I was driving a semi, so flashing was not a option, and on a divided highway, they were too far over to wave.

Last month (early August) we were on a family vacation driving up to Denali in AK and passed a caravan of Airstreams headed south. We had rented a car/house for the trip and started discussing how much fun that would be to explore around the country with our own RV. 3 weeks later we were new owners of an Airstream MH!

at least with the Airstream you will have room for people to sit inside. My sister has a Casita which they love. but no room for guests.

I always flash and wave if I see the other AS in time. I'm guessing that 50% acknowledgement.

On a couple of thousand mile trip right now. Have seen only two AS over the first two days. Flashed and was flashed by the first one. I flashed the second....but was ignored. Oh well. Most interesting was an old school bus painted red (hauling a trailer filled with camping gear). I thought it was the Partridge Family. Nope, a couple with 4 kids who were headed back to Saskatchewan after being in Philly. Very nice people. I let them look in SilverLeaf....and they were speechless at how beautiful it is. They're right!

Heading west on 460 in Virginia, seeing lots of Airstreams heading east.

Travel safe, all.

My wife saw about 4 vintage ASs heading south on Route 15 just north of Williamsport, PA.

When I was bringing my AS home a few weeks ago, I saw an AS sitting at a campground, a good 100 yards from the road. I honked and waved as if they were looking out their window at that exact point in time to see my AS and wave back lol. My girlfriend looked at me as if I was crazy so I had to explain this thread to her lol

We always flash traffic permitting...always fun to recognize that beautiful silhouette. Course my dark side starts immediately second guessing the TV when it looks "dubious" but comparing rigs to some of the fifth wheel TV's you see they seem more appropriate than most. After all, if you had the good judgement to buy an AS that must say something positive about you, right?
