Alaska to lower-48 states (roundtrip)

When most folks are planning their grand adventure to come to Alaska, we're headed south this week from Anchorage to various points in the American west. We have two questions: (1) The 16-inch Michelin load range E tires on our 28-foot Airstream Safari will be three years old with about 10,000 miles on them without mishap. Any advice based on experience or verifiable information when tires should be replaced? (2) Any favorite affordable RV campgrounds in or near Olympic National Park for extended stays? Thank you in advance, and hope to see you along the way!!
