Seriously, since I bought my Aistream Interstate back in December, with the exception of the WBCCI Mardi Gras Rally and at Airstream dealers, I haven't seen more than two Airstreams in one place, one of which has been mine.

In my part of the world, fifth-wheels predominate, seeming to make up more than 50% of all the RVs I see, both on the road and in campgrounds. Could it be because travel trailers remind people of FEMA trailers?
I was referring to " you" as Veterans :-)

I know I have taken a lot of guff from friends for buying an Airstream. " too small" " too expensive" but I have also heard " sure is cool" " always wanted one" 23 foot only weighs 5k? "

We are on the Road with ours heading to the gulf and we have seen only one. Sigh. We love seeing them!

There's 5 that I see every day on my way to and from work! I always want to stop and asks them if they've thought of selling. I'm addicted to these things. I want one of ever size... And probably more after that...

There is a huge old AS RV parked near my place in Toronto... Never seen it move. That is the only AS I can recall seeing for some time now.

Exactly my plan. This week the wheels go back on... And hopefully in about a month it will be ready to roll. No interior yet... But that is ok.

Yeah, but it's fun when you do see another. Just flash your lights or wave and in a RV park you'll tend to gather in groups.

Lin and I keep a record of the ones we see rolling or in camp. We don't count rallies, dealers, or storage lots. She tells me we have 202 on the list since April 2011, traveling through 36 states, 2 provinces with our wonderful Silver Otter.

Not counting Alumapalooza, we've only seen two other Airstreams on the road this summer, but we've seen five in the parks we've been in. There's been a lot of Airstreams built over the years, but we're still a minority given how many other brands there are.

During our recent 2 month road trip we saw Airstreams on the road almost every day. We saw a lot more parked at homes and RV Parks that we could see from the road. We met other owners at places we stayed at as well.

*** These numbers do not include the hundreds that were at the rallies we attended along the way.

So we arrived home in Spokane today, I will have to say that I-90 is the Airstream highway! We saw 6 today alone! Good to be home but we were sad last night was the last night in our stream for a couple of weeks.

Quiet a few dealers have disappeared, so you're starting to see pockets of Airstreams where the dealer's have remained strong. Maybe if they start expanding again it won't be so uncommon... but I know I wouldn't buy from a dealer more than a few hours away.
