Airstreams and Flyfishing
Springtime and flyfishing
I don’t know how many of our fellow airstreamers are also self proclaimed fly fishermen, but I am interested in some of your favorite haunts and experiences involving your airstream and a fly rod.
Every year for the past 6 years, my son, my son-in-law, and myself venture north to Pittsburgh, NH (about 8 miles of the Canadian border) with the airstream in search of trout. We camp at Lake Francis State Park and fish the upper Connecticut River for rainbows, brookies, and landlocked salmon.
Although we’re still buried under a blanket of snow here in the northeast, the days are getting longer and it’s time for the mail fairy to deliver catalogs full of all sorts of wonderful equipment designed to make it possible for the most evolved being on the planet to outsmart some sold-blooded, legless creature, with the brain the size of an English pea. And, all for the paltry investment just slightly larger than the gross domestic product a small nation.
Maybe this year.........
