Very nice Rodney - may I ask what lenses you are using?

Thanks Gary, I find buffalo very difficult to photograph well from both a composition stand point as well as the technical issues arising from the tonal ranges. Anyway, most of my wildlife images are made using a Sigma 120-300mm f 2.8 hsm dg. I bought mine used about a year ago and now that I have it on the new Nikon D300 I couldn't be more thrilled . When there is adequate light, I often pair the lens with a 2X teleconverter for a bit more reach.

My other frequent use lens is the Nikon 18-55mm f 3.5-5.6 G. It is a nice sharp shorter focal length lens.

Thanks Rodney. As a matter of fact I owned a Sigma 120-300/2.8 for a short while but found it too heavy and traded it for a 300/4. But is sure was sharp - expecially with a 1.4xTC. I can see you need some long glass in your area!
