Airstream to Alaska?

Hi, I'm curious about forum members taking their Airstream to Alaska. We did the trip by ourselves and really enjoyed it.

We did it with another Airstream couple. Just the 4 of us. Original plans were a group of 4 Airstreams but two of us had medical issues and couldn't make the trip. We do enjoy the Airstream caravans but this one was just the two of us. Great trip lots of memories.

Airstream to Alaska?

Wife & I made the trip in ‘07 , just the two of us & our lab. Enjoyed the three and a half mont trip. Really enjoyed the Kenia peninsula. Spent a couple weeks there fishing.
Main thing to remember, slow down, take you time and enjoy the beauty of the area.
I might add one more trip up there is on my bucket list. Hopefully it will be a 4.5 month trip next time.

We made the trek in 2016. Trip was 4 1/2 months long and we drove almost 14K miles. The only issue we had was a idler pulley failure which ruined the serpentine belt. Took a couple of hours to repair, in North Dakota. It was a Bucket List trip of a life time.

I've been to Alaska twice. Once by air travel then car camped and once with a fifth wheel. I have another trip up there planned hopefully this coming summer. I don't know if I'll take my Airstream or my Arctic Fox 25. Pros and cons to both.

We (my kids and I, occasionally my wife joins us) are on our way now. Will cross the border on July 5. They fly home at end of August for school but then I have permission to wander my way back for 5-6 weeks. It’ll be a 4 month trip in total for me, probably about 12-14k miles.

In another life I trained extensively to bike tour (as in pedal, not the noisy kind) from Maine to Alaska. In the end I couldn’t make the trip happen for a number of life reasons. I still hope to bike to or from Alaska someday.

I’ve wanted to go my whole life and though it’s many years after I planned be there, I’m very excited my first trip there will be with my kids. It’s my first real journey with my Airstream.

We are now camped in Edmonton, Alberta, on our way to Alaska.

NRYN watch for us on the way to the Tok border. We live in Alaska and will be crossing the border on the 4th heading to Skagway. We will be staying at the Discovery Yukon Lodging which is just before the border on the Canadian side on the night of the 4th. Hope to see you.

Hey Brian, we live here in Alaska and will be on our way to Skagway on the 4th. If I calculate timing correctly we should pass each other around Tok.

My wife and I are thinking Alaska 2021 is in our future. Start in PNW and go from there. Would love to caravan with other airstreamers if we can find the people to commit.
