Airstream Park Blue Ridge Pkwy Virginia

Hi all, recently read of an AS park in Virginia off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and searched threads, but can't find the info. We would love to take a get-away trip there. Any of you out there remember where it was?

Nancy

Nancy,
We are planning on being there 08/22-29/2009. There should be us and two other couples and their Airstreams caravaning down from Penn Wood Airstream Park in PA.

Later,
Carl

I'll see if those dates work out.. would be a lot of fun to be with airstreamers! Usually I am the only silver tube out there in the campground! Will let you know if the scheduling works out.

Nancy, Welcome indeed to our little piece of Heaven! Come on up to our mountain and be prepared to cool off (heaters were in use jsut the other morning) and enjoy the company of fellow Airstreamers from around the country. Bring your camera for some spectacular sunsets and wildlife spotting opportunities. Our local Black Bear, Jack, paid our trash cans a visit just the other evening but with all the canine pets and light sleepers about he had not a chance of doing any damage. Eastern Turkey, White Tailed Deer and Ruff Grouse are about at varying times of the day and we have hiking trails, one of which leads to our waterfall. Oh, and should you be a bird watcher, songbirds abound including many Hummingbirds. You'll be welcomed by a host of friendly people. Enjoy your journey, your stay with us and come back often.

Hi all, thanks for all the great ideas! If I have to come up before my husband, what is the nearest airport that he can fly into or is that a stretch to even consider.

Nancy, Commuter jets and the like fly into Roanoke, a mere forty five minute scenic drive up the mountain. Others to consider would be Greensboro or Charlotte, NC, two and a half and three hours distant.

Hi Nancy,
We are members of Highland Haven also Highland Haven and live in Greensboro. Currently our trailer is at Highland Haven and we will be driving from Greensboro on weekends for July and August at least. It's roughly a two hour drive.
