Advice on Fall trip to New England

Starting trip in Bangor Maine on September 22. Scheduled to make eight stops over a three week period:

Wells ME, Conway NH, Colchester VT, Middlebury VT, Lake Placid NY, Cooperstown NY, Bath NY, Niagara Falls NY....

Would appreciate any advice on our plan for timing and or stops.

Also any "don'ts" we should be aware of....
