A Lone Pine Christmas

We really enjoyed our Christmas Holiday in Lone Pine, CA with the Bambi and the Collie Kids. We had sit down views of Mt. Whitney and the Sierra's. The RV park was almost empty so we really had the place to ourselves.

We had snow fall Christmas Eve and enjoyed a white Christmas in the Eastern Sierra's. The only problem was trying to fit our gifts under our little tree!!!!

The Sport kept us nice and toasty and we enjoyed watching movies on the TV. Even though we had our turkey dinner ala the microwave we still enjoyed a nice Christmas dinner. It's a long way from the days of camping in Yosemite Valley in a dome tent with a foot of snow outside.

Mounting Hook

Maggie,

We picked up a 3M hook from Target to mount our Christmas wreath. It came off really easy and after we removed the sticky residue zero damage to the metal finish.

This was our third year and we plan to do the same trip next year so if anyone wants to join us we would enjoy the company.

We stay at the Boulder Creek RV park just south os Lone Pine on Hwy 395. Full hook ups, really nice club house, showers and killer views.

Looks like you had a great time. We go up to the June Lake Loop every summer and almost stayed at this park. Great pictures

June Lake

Subfan,

We go almost every October and stay at the Oh Ridge campground just above June Lake.

No hook ups but many sites have sit down views of the lake and Carson Peak.

We love the fall in the Eastern Sierra's and will do a day trip into Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows via Tioga Pass, Mono Lake and Bodie Ghost town.

We stay at Silver Lake CG in the loop. If you haven't tried the Mobile mart in Lee Vining, you are really missing something. It is located on 395 and 120 Tioga pass. Great food and music on the weekends. We use Silver Lake as our base camp and drive to Saddleback, and all the nearby lakes. I'm retiring at the end of this year and plan to spend the entire 2014 summer up there.

Eastern Sierra

Now that's just unfair, we are still ten years away from retirement. I have property in the little town of Keeler just accross Owens dry lake from Lone Pine.

We hope to build a place there when we retire. In the meantime I have to cram as much AS time into four weeks a year and holiday week ends as I can.

The best part of the trips to the ES is when we pull away from the curb at home and the worst is when we return.

If you get a chance attend the Lone Pine Film Festival which is held in October. Boulder Creek is a great place to stay but does fill up fast for FF week end. The film musuem is now open and is a must see.

Thumbs up Airstream Christmas

I really enjoyed your photos of your Christmas. It is my fantasy to have exactly that sort of Christmas with my 2 Brussels Griffons, Maggie May and MiniMe.

Thank you for the inspiration. (The snow is not my favorite though. I'm from the South!)
