Thumbs up

Loved the article!
All written the way it is or was with doubts to the future.
Best part was his line of campgrounds not the destination but a means of doing and being in the wilderness. As long time MH'ers looking back, a very significant concept was, do while young enough to hike and do the vigorous activities.
Having had the experience with kids and g-kids there is a fine point when figuring out the timeline for doing. Variation of genes needs to be noted, boys are easier to please in the wilderness, but our girls still have fond memories.

too bad

It is too bad they had that big bulky white box camper. An Airstream would have made the travels so much less "windy" and bumpy on those highways! Good story! Thanks for sharing.
