5 wks airstreaming and now it is back to work

We spent a total of 5.5 weeks camping in our airstream. My son had it for one of those weeks which has the airstream on the road for 6.5 weeks. We came home for two weeks for repairs (electical, airconditioner gasket, and new toilet.) and then we headed back out. 95% percent of the time we were on our property and using a generator. It was in the 90's and the air worked great.

I can't believe I am back to work again next week. We had a great time.

Sounds like a dream. Glad all went well - especially with regard to the a/c! My truck is having a hard time - first time I can remember turning on the a/c to high and not turning it down a few miles down the road.

Enjoy --- Laura

What a great time!

My SO and I are planning on taking 4-6 months off next spring to travel and "get away from it all", can't wait!

Mickie & Mary,
Yes, isn't that great? We got Three Full Springs this year by being on the road end of May and most of June. Went from the Blue Ridge north to British Columbia, back down the Oregon Coast, and then back to Virginia. This Is The Life!

A. W. - Take it now. We're not getting any younger, nor more able to hook-up, un-hook, set the stabilizers, hook up the water, mess with the sewer, etc. <grin>

The farthest we went was the Chicago area (Visiting Family). I wanted to go farther north to the upper great lakes, but the price of gas was out of my budget. Staying put on the property and hitting a Tn. State park on the way up and back is what we did. Our property has a steel building where we keep the trailer. I put 45 tons of gravel down in the barn and parked the airstream in it yesterday. We left it and drove home.

The price of gas in Illinois is expensive. I have another airstream for us to use when we are at home and I will keep the other one in the barn up north miles away. I think hitting Canada, Washington and those areas would be a blast. These fuel prices hurt my travel bug.

Hey Brian if you thought gas was expensive in illinois, try $1.30 CAD per liter which works out to about $5.06 USD per US gallon and that's down from the peak of $5.45 USD.
