4G in Portland

we have used a verizon aircard for the past few years, but recently acquired a verizon MIFI. As we bounce around the country, verizon is mostly successful in providing an adequate signal....sometime a lot better than others. but we have never had 4G....but Since arriving in the Portland, Oregon area....a 4G area....the speed is lightin fast....it is just amazing.....I don't want to leave the area

And additionally we stumbled upon Sauvie Island ....a delightful place. We are at Reeders Beach Resort....parked on the banks of the Columbia river....The island is an agricultural oasis....U-pick berry farms and vegetables everywhere.........

Oregon is a large slice of heaven! The summers are ideal with low humidity, mild temps and very little rain. Scenery in generally is green and lush ( all the rain we receive in the winter) with the Gorge, mountains and the coast to explore. Welcome to our home.

The 4G is new and spreading throughout the area. Verizon states that it should be available in most of the US within the next year or two.

Thats wonderfull, that you "discovered" Sauvie Island. It really is kinda like a slice of "midwest", right outside Portland. I'am just a few miles away downstream, have friends that live there, and I try to go there as often as I can.
The island is known for having some of the richest topsoil that can be found anywhere in the U.S.

Good news for us, too... Tucson is supposed to get Verizon 4G later this month... and we have the 3G/4G LTE MiFi as well. Can't wait to see how fast it is!

You guys still bumming around Oregon? The Oregon unit has a rally coming up the end of Aug if you are still here. It's our Kayak rally in Skamokawa, WA just west of Sauvie island about 50 miles on the Columbia. Kayaks to rent or bring your own, we will be kayaking along the backwater sloughs off the Columbia, should be lots of fun. Your invited or anyone else that would like to join us.
