Moab, The North Rim/Grand Canyon NP, Yosemite NP
Following is what we needed to do for a stressless trip during April & May 2018: FIRST: PLAN and RESERVE RIGHT NOW...do not hesitate. We scored 4 nights in Yosemite NP the week before Memorial Day. I was on the web precisely when the reservation window opened January 15th @ 7 am PST. The fellow at the RV Park where we will stay the night before going into the park could not believe our luck. Persistence, a quick finger, and careful planning paid off. I understand parking inside the park is at a premium Easter to September. A single campsite might open up for one spot, another spot the following night. You'll need to move your rig mid day but at least you'll be in the park. Try arriving on Sunday or Monday as early as possible for the best chance to get a spot. Cancellations happen. Be aware that length restrictions are strictly enforced in Yosemite and some other national parks. The North Rim Grand Canyon was equally difficult to reserve. Moab has numerous events that should be planned around. Visited three times, stayed once. No room even at BLM boondock sites. Good luck.
