We got off the ferry this morning; winds blowing a gale and driving rain and cool. Almost missed the Visitor's Center - drove in the exit, parked, and got up later and drove to Grand Codroy campground. It is very nice.
Plan to drive to Corner Brook,NL tomorrow. Weather has been cool whole time in NS. Weather forecast for Codroy,NL: Lows: mid 50's to 60; highs: 60's to low 70's.

Fortress of Louisbourg
While in Louisbourg we visited the early 1700's French Fortress of Louisbourg. A lot of the architecture is similar to the French Quarter in New Orleans.
Entrance
The brig
While in Louisbourg, Cape Bretton NS, we stayed at the Riverdale Campground. Well kept but small.

Thanks. There is a common bond among travelers camping; whether rv, motorcycle, or bicycle. We are having a great time.

Newfoundland
Planning our first trip to Newfoundland beginning in August, so needless to say, we are thoroughly enjoying your excellent travelogue. Photos are incredible. We saw some comments about water boiling requirements in some campgrounds, particularly in the general Gros Morne area. Is that true? Anything special about access to water we should know? Thanks in advance.

Sadly, we are headed back tomorrow morning on the Port aux Basques ferry. We stayed in Gros Morne Green Point campground and there were no notices regarding water boiling there or in the Visitors Center. There may be issues with some Provincial Parks. On the road into Gros Morne there are several places where you can fill water jugs from spring water. There is a pipe that comes down from a vertical rock wall. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of fill my water bottles. I was told that it is the best spring water. Also, there is an artesian well in Stephenville where residents get there drinking water.

Running out of fuel
About 20 year's ago I almost ran out of fuel in my Chevy Silverado Diesel. Ever since then every new truck that I purchase I drive up to Transfer Flow in Chico, California and have a 50 gallon tank installed in the bed of my truck. It is totally automatic. Problem solved.QUOTE=BirdDog;1818915]I have had my 25' FC for a year and this is our first trip. After driving for an hour or so, I stopped and checked on things. When I went inside, the kitchen faucet was gurgling. I had left the water pump on and the trailer vibration caused the kitchen sink faucet to turn on. Fresh water went from 100% to 0% and grey water went to 100%. First lesson booked.
Towards the end of the drive, thought I could make it to the next exit before the fuel alarm light came on. Didn't make it. I pulled over on the side of I59 and got my 5 gallon spare container of diesel out and poured it in. Not sure what happens to a Duramax if you run out of diesel (probably not good). I was not interested in trying to purge the air out of a diesel on the side of I59.
We are camped out in Fort Payne,AL and headed to Nova Scotia via Wilkes Barre,PA, Norwitch, CT (King Arthur Flour),and Freeport,ME (LLBean 24-7). Expect to be in Marion,VA tonight.

We were recently in Cape Breton and stayed at Whycocomagh Provincial Park. It was quiet, beautiful, well kept, and clean, including the bathroom/showers.

Checklists; Checklists; Checklists
Joel and Jane[/QUOTE]
My wife and I use checklists (laminated copies in passenger door pocket; extras in Airstream), modified somewhat from those in Rich Luhr's 2016 Newbies Guide To Airstreaming.
Decided to use checklists in these situations years ago after watching a 747 instructor pilot on 1st glider solo land with semi-retractable landing gear up. After we teased him that "it wasn't at work" he explained that at work the non-flying pilot reads the checklist - alone he didn't do one!
Printed pre-takeoff and pre-landing checklists for my sailplane that night and always used them, mounted in view on my instrument panel.

My second check list for this trip I laminated with clear mailing tape. Thanks
