1st Big trip ... Myrtle Beach

Well we just made reservations for our first long trip in the spring and it will be our first long distance trip in our new AS!!! Myrtle Beach here we come!! We liked making reservations for somewhere so warm in April while we're here freezing @ about 15 degrees We'll do as many local weekend get aways as we can before going south but it's nice to have a great trip to look forward to. It'll be the week of the 13th in April {school vaca} and we're staying at Ocean Lakes Resort. Maybe we'll run into some other streamers there, hope so. Anyone out there going? Anyone been to Ocean Lakes?

Always a nice area from what I hear. I was stationed near virginia beach a few years back, but never made it further north or south.

Enjoy that first trip...it's a memory.

Myrtle Beach is one of our favorite areas. We stayed next to Ocean Lakes and found the camping to be great. What a fun trip to look forward to with your new 27'.

We just had a SC rally there and have had seveal Region 3 rallys at Ocean Lakes. Its a great place with 5 point hook-ups and wifi (at a cost on your site, free at the snack bar). Don't miss the Carolina Opry, its one of the best family shows you will see anywhere in the US. Take along the golf clubs as there are over 100 courses close by, and I love Murrell's inlet has some of the best local seafood you could ever ask for. Just a few miles south of the campground. Check with the wbcci site and see if SC Coastal has anything going on that weekend. When you head home come by the way of Raliegh on the 22-26th of April and enjoy the fellowship and friendship of the Region rally. I know you will enjoy MB its a fun place to go and Charleston and Savannah are not that far away and make a very interesting trip in and of themself. Love to know the route you are taking as I travel this area extensively.

Just got back!

We just got back from a trip there of the Christmas/New Year break. Had spot one back from the front row. I've got two spots being held for next year from the Dec. 26-31 on the front row. You should have a great time.

Stayed at Myrtle for a week last June on our way back from Disney. Camped at Lakewood Campground - HUGE. Loved the Dixi Stampede. You'll have a great time. Good time of year to be down there.

Thumbs up

We stayed at Ocean Lakes and found everything to be outstanding. The beach was great.

Our last time there we stayed at Pirate Land. Not sure if it's still there anymore. That stay with my SOB was our only instance of thievery at a campground. I pretty much knew who did it but couldn't prove it.

I lost a set of aluminum aircraft wheel chocks that were being used at the time. They also took my bumper end caps which were used to close off the bumper ends (when you stored your sewer hose in the rear bumper).

The folks in a wreck of a trailer next to us didn't have either item. When we got back from a trip to the grocery, their trailer was gone and those items were missing from ours.
