11th Trip to Disney World

Although not a shot-for-shot remake, I might update my avatar (the little image to the left of this message) with this image. My avatar shows my son prepping my Overlander for our first Disney trip in 2004.

He is now 6'1" & working on his Eagle Badge.

Vintage Airstreams rock!

Wow, eleven times. I've lived in Florida since 1973, never been, don't go to tourist traps. Glad you enjoy, we need the tourist money.

Glad we don't live near Orlando, I'd never see my Disneyholic wife.

For those of you who've been to the Orlando RV Parks, do you have recommendations for a nice place to stay with our 28' Flying Cloud, 2 adults and one dog? Thanks.

I've been 10 times since 1996 and looking forward to the 11th trip, which will be my first time to take the Airstream to Fort Wilderness.

Eagle!

Great to hear it. All three of my sons made Eagle. Its interesting to see what doors open for them when that is noted on their Resume...

Do let us know when he makes Eagle--its a super milestone in his life!

We were just there last weekend for #2 trip this year, go back in December, and 2 more trips in the Spring. We have gone an average of 4x per year for like 10 years. Fort Wilderness is the best campground ever when you live a little over an hour away and enjoy Disney and have grand kids that love it too!

As a former resident of Florida, how do they control the mosquitos at Fort Wilderness? All my camping memories in the state revolve around bug bites 👿

My wife and I are DVC members so we have been to WDW almost 30 times. We love going into Fort wilderness and looking at the trailers. We like seeing the Airstreams and dreamed of having one some day. Now we are planning to go when our shell off reno is done.
Glad to hear you like it there.

No mosquitos because of the "It's a Small World After All" tune repels them.

Grin!

I can believe that. Spent 5 days and 4 nights at the Pop Century resort and never got bitten. I guess the vibrations of the song permeate the property...

If you're looking at theme parks besides Disney, I recommend Bill Fredrick Park at Turkey Lake. It is a Orlando city park near Universal and Seaworld. Great location, reasonable price and a woodsy oasis in the middle of a good part of town.

There's a bunch of new Airstreamers down from New Hampshire near us at Fort Wilderness. We're in site 430 for anyone I have missed.

EPCOT's Food & Wine Festival is keeping me out of the campground during lunchtime. The lamb chop from EPCOT's Australian Pavilion was, once again, well worth the year-long wait.

Tom

NH VT MA RI CT ME - that's a mini caravan from the New England unit. I wish I was with them but couldn't squeeze in the extra vacation time. But we also have a great local event this weekend (Digging the Dead).

They're a fun bunch! 😃

I heard my first live Mariachi Band at Disney back in 1994. Ever since then it has been an experience I enjoy repeating.

I noticed this forum now allows video uploads. If it works, here is a short clip from today. These guys are really talented.
