Did they really have basement storage? I don't know anything about the Squargosies or Squarstreams but they look like they were nice trailers...just not what everyone thinks of when they think Airstream/Argosy.

"Basement" storage is the under the bed side compartment from the outside,on mine it's in the rear under the double bed. Pretty much the same as on the silver Airstreams w/30 amp power cord/sewer hose storage areas. I've seen some sob's with the real basement compartments all down both sides of the trailer.

James, the one on the Bay is # 45,one of the very first ones ever built! Looks to be in very good shape.

Gotcha. We have two basements in ours. One under the master bed and one under the bunk beds.

Hello...I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. Purchased the Argosy shown below in Jacksonville today. I'm totally new to rvs but thought this one was really nice looking. Ended up paying $6700.00. Thought it was reasonable. Wife and I are looking forward to making it look new. Any help, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums! And, congratulations on your new obsession, umm, purchase.
Squaregosies are cool, we were looking at a Squarestream just before we purchased our classic design unit. There are times (like when I am trying to cram something in an overhead compartment) I wish we had bought one.

Hi Glenn Welcome to the squarestream world.
You may have noticed that wanderer1 is in Ocala FL has one like yours, lee Field and MAX 7157 are both in FL with squarestreams.
Please email me your full name and email address for the squarestream registry. repaircraftsvc@aol.com
I am going camping in the AM and will be where I have no cell phone or email
but will find a place to check it once a week.
Nice to hear from you.
Welcome to the airforums.com mr. glenn. You will find lots of help here on most all the issues you come across. There are way more of the monocoque designs that the square varieties, but there are plenty of similarities and several folks who have the square versions that can offer experienced advise.
Good luck with your new coach and happy camping!

Thanks Everyone for the welcome! I've parked my #45 Argosy in my back yard and have begun restoration. Today I started working on the plumbing system and since I am an absolute novice at these things I am moving slow. Took out the old toilet and will replace it with a newer "taller" version. The holding tank valves are all stuck and I'm having problems with the refrigerator freezer door sealing shut. Most everything seems to be in good shape. Some rust underneath on the metal frame but not too bad. The paint is very dull and my wife and I are contemplating color schemes for a repaint. Havn't had a chance to fire up the gas yet as there is no propane in the tanks. One step at a time.
