1989 Airstream Fifth Wheel

Hi everyone. I am hoping someone could give me an idea of what I should be asking for a 1989 Airstream Fifth Wheel. It does need some work. The stove should be replaced because it is rusty but the microwave works okay. The Fridge and Washer and Dryer are newer. The roof was replaced because there was a leak and as a result one side of the Airstream has some water damage. We had bought this 4-5 years ago and the original owners used it at the beach so there is always some sand embedded in the rugs. It has a queen size bed instead of the twins that I have seen while checking it out on the Internet. I do know that there weren't many of the fifth wheels made though. It was actually very funny following the trailer taking it to the campground and watching everyone pulling over or staring at it.

Anyway, I have no clue what a reasonable price is on it. My husband and I did not use it much last year and will probably use it less this year. I would rather find someone who would get more use out of it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will try to add pictures of it if I can figure it out - but my husband had posted some in 2002 (kjustinski) if I get them posted. Sorry but I only have pictures of the outside right now, I will look for some of the inside if needed to make suggestions on the price. Thanks in advance!

I also forgot, we did add on a new awning but it needs new tires which can be included if necessary.

Hope this helps

I have no idea as to resale cost (although one would think that its rarity would make it far more valuable), but here are a few threads that I found on the A/S fifth wheel that might help. Supposedly the 1989s were far better in quality than the ones produced in the nineties. You may want to find out info like where it was built (was it one of the very few produced in Jackson Center?), model #, etc. and use that in your search.

Thanks for the links. The only one that is close to what we have is the 1st one. It is a fifth wheel and one of the only 50? made. I read somewhere that there were only 2 left that were registered. I don't know if that is true but ours has always been, so if it is we have one of those. It has a roomy bathroom and is huge. I think I will post this in the classified section as well but if anyone has any suggestions please reply. Diane

Re Airstream Fifth Wheel

Hi Diane,
I left you a "personal message" but in case you didn't get it....
My husband just retired last year and we are planning on fulltiming...We have an airstream but it just doesn't seem to be big enough to fulltime in...this would be perfect!! We would love to see it...we are in upstate New York. Please get in touch. We started looking at 5th Wheels but really didn't want to stop being Airstreamers!!
my email Luvz2cook@aol.com and home phone 518-783-2111
Sincerely,
Christine

Too bad this is on the West Coast. You'll never see yourself coming and going with a SILVER STREAK fifth wheel:
