Wow....when you said project, you really meant project.
What is the outer body made of? Alum? Fiberglass?

Gee, and this is a 1988! I see that Squarestreams were prone to all the issues the white box crowd has. I'd have a fit if my '79 had the same kind of problems. (But then, it has different problems.)

aluminum...seems to be welded somehow...have not really got that far yet...
rear bedroom only took 5 hours start to finnish..have only 2 hours into front room so far...another 2 hours for new floor cut and install...
i broke the awning spring yesterday...about 250.00 will fix that up...
other then that not much else is needed....i did take tankes down for new valves and certification this morning...both tanks will cost 200.00 including filling...
then a subfloor to even everything out and then a pergo floor already purchased 400.00 and that should be it....
body shell is aluminum sheet painted with a real nice paint job...it cleans and waxes up perfectly....i did some soft pad glazing on it yesterday and it looks great...
Your unit will be beautiful and a sight to behold when you finish her up. I'd be proud to park next to her.

So any problems with the bottom rivets? My squarestream had a water leak before I bought it, through the ceiling vent seal, which caused a pool of water to collect in the floor. Eventually this seemed to weaken the bottom rivets and caused the sheeting to separate. Interesting that a squarestream should only have problems with the riveting... Also I believe the problem was exasperated by the previous owner towing it back to Canada from Florida after the roads in Canada were receiving their first dose of winter salt. Other than that the aluminum sheeting and bonding process seems to be excellent.
Once you're finished you'll have a darn fine trailer.
I have had my airstream for 8 years. It is a squarestream and I love it.They are great trailers. Mine has 2 doors one for the back bedroom and one upfront. They are great trailers. I have pulled mine everywhere and it has always pulled very well. Good luck with your project.

Hi
Welcome to the forum. You will find that us squaresteamers are as rare as your 2 door trailer is.We need all the help we can get
Thanks for the welcome.
I have never seen another 2 door but I do love it. It really is a great trailer. So how is the rebuild going? I had to do some of that when I bought mine. The door was left unlocked going down the road by the previous owner and it bent the door just enough to cause a little wood rot in the doorway so I replace the entire floor and added new carpet. I need to reupholster now but don't feel like it yet.

a fellow named ART called the other day and said he had just bought a squarestream and was asking questions....i felt so bad because i had not touched my trailer in a couple of months...being self-employed i find myself with mostly no time and no money....i seem to work all day and have less in my pocket at the end of the day...
here are some pics i took today...please look, laugh, and feel free to offer suggestions..
Hi Lee Nice start.Might want to change light fixtures to fluorescent slimline while you have it apart.Thay where an up grade in 1989.Uses a lot less battery when boondocking.
Have you found paneling to do walls and ceiling with?I would like to know what you find.
