I was saying that the trailer Dave did for Bob Wheeler;thepolishing, shell, chassis, wiring and plumbing was completed by Airstream Service. Dave Winick did the furniture and accessories.

Still putting it into perspective, $65k for a, totally refurbished, vintage skinned, David Winick, custom built interior and accessories, new as a brand new off the line trailer. All that at the same price as an off the line same old same new Airstream is a good buy if you ask me. That trailer is very highly detailed and who ever bought it is very lucky and also got a very good deal.

Gail, get over it, honestly, there are a lot of us who are FAR more interested in the travel experience than the showering experience. I would NEVER waste space on a shower if redoing a vintage trailer.

Did anybody see or figure out from the text what exactly was used for the interior walls aside from the endcaps?

I am going to have to go with SteSpot on this one. I use to think the shower a novelty. Then a good friend made me a custom shower curtain to fit my shower perfectly. I think my navy shower is the best one of all. I even use the shower in the trailer over any campground shower we stay in. It is so satisfying. Now don't get me wrong, the tow is the best part for me too. But I love my vintage shower.

Wow, Frank.. next thing I know you'll be sporting alumnium rims on Anna with a whale tail too! (tongue firmly in cheek!).

On an off topic note, can you show us the curtain? Fabric, vinyl (which I really don't like in my Argosy, but it is a bit mold resistant)?

65k? I think that sold for less than what it cost to build. Wether done by an artist or a craftsman it takes a ton of hours to do a top quality job.

Now that my friend is not going to happen....

I do not have a photo. I used a nylon material that is the same as parachutes are made of. I think it is called rip stop fabric and I bought it at Joann Fabrics. It dries very quickly and during the entire season we have seen no signs of mold. I dries in a very short time. The tub in a 62 is fairly large and the water does not saturate the entire curtain. I am telling you, the shower in the trailer is great. I only wish I had a tankless water heater so I did not have to turn the water on and off to conserve on the six gallon Atwood.

I am a huge fan of David Winick's designs and craftsmanship. His work is incredible and has been a major source of inspiration for my own renovation.

$65K would definitely be a bargain for that trailer, and likely sold at a loss compared to the time it took to craft the unit.
