Where do we go from here?
Today, Nov7, 2011, I heard a news story on the local Dallas/Ft. Worth radio station...probably of some interest to the Forum. The Ft. Worth City Govt. just approved a request for a business, of sorts, to commence their project of building a shopping "mall" and business center composed of individual, rebuilt, old Airstreams. Numerous applicants have already put in requests to participate...food, an architect, a realty office...etc. It is on the site of an old RV park from what they said. Something to watch.
Could this be it? http://www.merchantcircle.com/blogs/...k.254-582-5566

That listing in Mercantile Circle doesn't make any sense as written, but the number resolved it for me. There's a Walnut Hill *Lane* in Irving (and part of it may go into Dallas, those city boundaries get a little fuzzy when I'm not looking at the city-limit sign.) I don't think there's a Walnut Hill Ave. in Fort Worth, certainly not in the downtown area where that zip is.
The phone number, however, is the same as that listed for NTAC, in Hillsboro. They're at 200 Walnut Hill Ave, Hillsboro, TX.

This thread is spooky ... I currently live in the Fairmount neighborhood, as one poster mentioned, and I work on Walnut Hill Ln. in Irving, as another mentioned. AND, my wife and I just visited that mobile vintage clothing store that was linked.
Are you people following me?!

wow!
That certainly sounds cool and interesting. We have one awesome mobile wood oven pizza Airstream in St. Louis, but a whole RV park full of Airstream shops, artists and foodies would be awesome!
Keep us updated...

Dallas West Mobile Home/RV Park
I was reading this thread thinking it sounded familiar. Don't know if it's the same but here's what I know:
Cienda Partners has purchased the old Dallas West Mobile Home/RV Park on West Commerce St. & Pittman (in Oak Cliff area of Dallas) (Ft. Worth side of Dallas). Cienda has teamed up with Belmont Hotel owner & developer Monte Anderson to develop the retail trailer park which will include eateries, shops, an insurance agency, etc. An Oak Cliff based carpenter Gary Buckner is converting trucks, RVs (including Airstreams), and trailers into mobile kitchens. Clients can rent an existing trailer in the park or bring in their own.
I read about this in the Dallas Morning News a few months ago and also recently in the Dallas Observer.
