Vintage Trailer Show in Tucson
This weekend. (It's our annual Tucson Modernism Week). Went by this morning and saw a couple silver ones parked there (one looks like an Avion?) along with some canned hams, will be heading out shortly to go look as the rain has just let up. If you are in Tucson it's on Broadway just a little West of Tucson Blvd on the North side of the street. I'll try to get a few pics. They all look to be fully restored.

There were 14 trailers there. I took dozens of photos but not sure if anyone is interested in them, will post a few, just ask if you want to see more. There was a 1933 Gilke Deluxe (tent trailer), 1953 Empire, 1956 Ben Roy Teardrop, 1957 Kenskill, 1956 Shasta, 1966 Shasta, 1964 Western Field Tent Trailer, 1961 Holiday House, 1959 Deville, 1961 Shasta Airflyte, 1961 Aristocrat Lil Loafer, 1966 Silver Streak, 1973 Streamline and the most interesting was a 1947 Spartan Manor completely restored with a modern interior including a mini split, composting toilet, washer/dryer and is self sufficient with solar/lithium battery bank. A family of four lives in it full time.

This Gilke Deluxe has been in the same family since 1955 and the lady on the left remembers camping in it as a child. It is on it's 4th canvas made by the owner.

The 1947 Spartan Manor is very modern inside. The insulation is spray foam. The bath was surprisingly roomy.

There was a nice cafe trailer, live music. How about that for a tow vehicle ?

Yes the Shady Dell is a neat place. Soon we will have a vintage park opening here in Tucson, in fact the 1973 Streamline is one of the "rooms". The young lady told me they are almost ready to open.

Not kidding at all....see link below. Note pic #13 the reporter mis-identified the Streamline as an Airstream. Also note the Holiday House which is now fully restored in my pics.
