Value for insurance purposes

Looking for info on how to "value" my 1970 Safari for insurance purposes. Right now AAA values it at some silly low value based on the age.

I am NOT looking here from the members for the value, per se, just a method someone might have used to come up with a reasonable cost to replace so I can upgrade my insurance numbers.

Thanks!

An AS dealer appraised mine, and that was good enough for my insurance company for agreed value policy.

Insurance on older Airstreams can vary all over the place.

I, many years ago, was the sole field rep for the Insurance Division of Airstream, that was called Caravanner Insurance.

The simple secret to establishing a value, is DUCUMENT.

That means everything you have upgraded, that cost more than a few dollars. Examples are Air Conditioner, Furnace, Water heater, Axles, Awnings, regasketing, paint job, tires, etc.

List the dollar value, and the age.

Then, a good Insurance company will allow you to select, within reason, a "stated value", instead of ACV, which means actual cash value and assumes everything is original.
