Mine was painted inside already, so we just went with an Aura paint from Benjamin Moore. Very nice to use.
What was the surface prep? Just TSP? I've used DURATION and other lines from Sherwin-Williams (not trailers) and have heard good things about AURA, but prep is still 2/3's the job. Are you using XIM Extender to increase open time? Thanks, and it's looking nice!

Since its supposed to be -10f all week here I may not quite get the flooring done for a bit. I put a little space heater in it for a bit, it gets tolerable pretty quick, but not that much fun.

I may have to hook on and take it down to the shop so I can do it indoors.LOL

I found this on Craig's list in Vancouver BC Canada.... To far for me to go see in person, but maybe someone in Washington may want to go look at this nice little TT. Trex

This one also has the tear drop shaped marker lights close to the top of the front and rear windows which I think were changed to small square lamps in about 1973.

I'm not interested in the trailer as I would prefer a tandem, but it may work for some, maybe parked as an office.

Was Travel Lux made by or have any connection to Avion? That sure looks like my 1964 Avion, both inside and out.

I am not sure, I own a 72/31' airstream that I am remodelling. But the Travelux and Streamline trailer's look very interesting to me. I like the 13 pannels and the fact that you can bolt on new "off the shelve" axles. The 3rd tail light in the middle above the rear window. Nice look!

I would like to buy one, but I am knee deep with my 72 AS. Maybe in a year or so, I may have the 3 "T's" to take on another remodel....or not PS, I just found another travelux on Craigslist here in northern Calif. So I sent the owner a email asking for more photos and history, year, and model. Trex "May Wally be with you"

I found this when I Googled Travel Lux:

Scanned from Airstream Forum member Doug1939:

HISTORY FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND INFO. GATHERED OVER THE YEARS.

A gentleman by the name of Mr. Wragge, apparently started the Caravel Coach Company (manufacturer of Travelux trailers) at 15 Jutland Drive, Toronto in 1966. The manufacturing began the next year in an industrial complex in Aurora (north of Toronto). I purchased my 22' Travelux in 1967 from Russell Church Mobile Homes in Barrie Ontario. It came with the incorrect appliance/coverings color and the trailer was returned to the factory for the correct color.

At this time I learned” bits and pieces”: of related info. from various sources. The units were based on the U.S. Avion model. All units were completely assembled in Ontario with all the usual components….ie: Kelsey Hayes running ear/Dometic/Duo Therm etc. The trailers were overbuilt with 5” frames, and quality cabinetry and workmanship.

The business was successful until the late 70's when I was told that a large order from overseas resulted in some financial problems and the company ceased operation. It was subsequently started again in the small town of Bradford. I found a very small shop with some construction and many parts…but a shadow of the former operation. I went back a few years later and it had disappeared.

Scanned from RV Times by RogerH.

Hello: I have just added a discussion on the Travelux Trailers, this to help provide information and some history to these. I will try to put together as much as I can .

They were originally built in a small plant in Toronto Ontario. In the early seventies the company moved to Newmarket Ontario, about thirty miles North of Toronto. Their last move was to a Town called Bradford, this one about 10 miles North of Newmarket. I know there was some ownership change at some point.

My father Bob Holliday was the first plant manager and initiator for the streamlined Travelux as a Canadian made trailer. I will add information as I figure it out, it was just a random enquiry on google to see what info was available on Travelux, mostly what I saw on all sites was questions.

Hey Ventport, thanks for the info.... I would like to drive over to the coast from Redding CA. just to look at the one on Craigslist. I did see somewere on the web that there is some type of conection between Avion and Streamline/travelux. It may have been on another thread here.

Love the look of your trailer also. I do wish that I would have gotten a little older trailer to remodel. But the more I work on the "The Old Girl", the more I like her, (72/31')....

I just need to get her up and running for Super Bowl weekend so the Bunny and I can make it to Feather Falls to watch the game, lose some money to the tribe, eat to much food, and drink to much beer. Trex "May Wally be with you"

Just to add what I found when I wanted to buy one. I nearly went for the one at the head of this thread but decided it was too small and got the 28ft Argosy. Now I want the smaller one for just my wife and I for the odd weekend away.
No pleasing some people.
Anyway whilst researching, I came across this scanned brochure. My apologies for not referencing where I got it, i cannot remember and I do not know that it came from the forum.

Hi, I just bought a 1971 Travelux and I'm super excited to get it home this weekend!

I totally thought I was going to see an Airstream when I went to see this trailer. It wasn't until after we left and started looking through some papers (that the seller allowed us to take home) that we discovered it was a... huh? a Travelux? WTF is a Travelux?! I am really happy to find some threads about them here, and elsewhere.

The trailer is in pretty good shape, looks like it's mostly original stuff in there...a bit of floor rot under the back bath (totally to be expected), and it came with the awning!
