Silver Streak Treasure Trove of info

Those who work on Silver Streaks have probably already found this site, but it was new to me today as I was trying to learn more about how they are built (to figure out where they should be in my ever changing hierarchy of vintage kin I'd like to find.

Anyhow, this site is impressive for two reasons:

1) The owner gives a day by day, step by step on his full monty, which is impressive for not cutting corners on work, taking on new skills, and going for the belts and suspenders. Let's just say that there is a tutorial on making one's own Black water tank with a plastic welder (he learned how to do it in response to quotes for a new tank) or the new sub floor that was marine grade ply, which was then coated with West Epoxy. Not to mention the fabrication of a grey water holding system. All very impressive and a tutorial that can be applied elsewhere.

2) Did I mention Sales Brochures. Oh yes, .pdfs galore for many years. A library.

I've spent quite a bit of time and learned an awful lot about Silver Streaks. Unfortunately, I'm not a keen fan of the way in which the shell is attached to the frame through the floor, making floor repairs difficult without a frame off restoration. Then again, if there isn't THAT much floor rot, is there really a structural issue for the first few years of ownership/use?

Anyway, I thought I would share what I found, just in the event that there are others who are investigating looking for a Silver Streak trailer and wanted to learn more about how they are built and also wanted to check out the sales materials for model options, weights, etc.

My Kudos to the site owner (and to his craftsmanship). I found this site to be a real treasure trove of information.
