Silver 1987 Avion 34-W has to go
We reluctantly have decided to sell our Silver Avion. I've already consulted with several Silver RV owners about the potential of finding a buyer. Would some of you be willing also to share some of your experiences, either from buying or selling? What worked best for you?

Ooops, almost forgot. I posted the Avion for sale notice in the classified section. Any of your comments or suggestions would be most welcome.

That's a really nice looking Avion. With the price of square white boxes, your Avion should sell quickly.

Thanks for the tip rock60. I already posted on the Avion forum. But most of the interest there is slaving over a fixer-upper, so I doubt if my buyer will come from there. I also posted on RV Trader and YouTube.

I've saved your Craigslist ad for when the house sells . . among over 100 other Avions and Silver Streaks! Nicely done ad by the way.

Thanks for the positive comment.
FYI, I actually sold my house on Craig's. After 2-1/2 years with realtors and 30+ showings, the last realtor contract expired. Listed on Craigs two weeks later. Two more weeks and we had a buyer! Seriously! No commission to realtor either!
I also had an extensive blog with two virtual tours to support the Craigs ad. That helped too.
To do a neat looking Craigs ad, I had to learn a bit of HTML programming (the hard way by trial and cuss.) Same HTML works on eBay too. BUT, it takes me several hours of banging the keyboard to get there. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

We had two buyers for our Avion and both saw it on this airforum! But we decided to keep it.
After owning a Winnebago for a couple weeks and while comparing the unit to our Avion, we decided to keep our Silver Avion. To make a long story short, the Winnebago simply was crap of the unadulterated variety. The fit, finish and materials of the '97 Winnebago absolutely did not compare, not even closely, to our '87 Avion. Yes, the Winnebago MH with its slideout and one more closet was roomier. But its advantages stopped there. We now have a 37' Winnebago Adventurer for sale.
Year after year, we bragged about the quality of our unit, perhaps so much that we could not tolerate anything less for our home.

Hey, I am glad to hear that you are keeping your Avion. My brother used to own a 36' fleetwood tandem drive mh. It was a real B**** to drive and a real maintenance headache. I think you will be much better off towing the Avion.
Dan
PS- I grew up in Michigan. I still miss the great lakes and Higgens Lake.
